Gotta love Mel's glasses!Mar 22, 2013

Mel Dorado is #27 in the Cars 2 line of "singles", and you just gotta love those glasses! He's designed as a Cadillac Eldorado, gold & tan, but those glasses are what make him so great! In the movie, he's the host of the Mel Dorado Show, and his guests are Miles Axlerod & Francesco Bernoulli (two other Cars 2 characters) - Mater calls in and ends up getting Lightning McQueen an invitation to the World Grand Prix! Grandpa & I think it's neat that these cars are based on a real life person (this one's Larry King!), with a twist on the name to refer to something car-related (in this case, MEL dorado instead of Eldorado!) Our grandson became a Cars fanatic shortly before his 4th birthday, and we've been collecting them ever since. They're SUPER durable, so they're sure to still be around for him to pass onto his own kids one day! We got a decent price on Amazon ($6.59 & free shipping).

My son is 3 1/2 years old and is addicted to cars!!!! He freaked out when he saw it!!! Absolutely love it!!!! We even take a shower with it.. Def reccimmend

I have a cars fan. This is one of her favorites. You can find him in Disney for a lot cheaper. If you aren't going anytime soon ask someone who is.

My son is obsessed with these cars. It has been a year since we bought most of them The paint is not chipped, maybe a couple of scratches, rolls well enough, are made of substantial metals with little or no plastic parts and most importantly are well loved. The extra money for these series is well worth it since these are played with and the hot wheels are not. There are hardly, if any, visible scrapes and dings on the paint job after being crashed, thrown and put in the bath tub.
