4If your children are looking for a solid performer, Earth Virgo is worth it!Feb 02, 2012
By Dennis A. Amith (kndy)
As a father, I have to admit that Beyblade's have brought me and my son together. In the past, he has purchased toys such as Hot Wheels, Mighty Beans, Pokemon and Super Hero figures but there was nothing that drew him into playing those toys for a long time (like we did back in the day when we played our toys until they broke).

But with Beyblades, these are toys that father and son (well, my wife "tries" to play with him too) can really bond with and enjoy battling together. For the reason that it's something that your children can easily beat mom and dad at. But also for them to find out how they can maximize the potential of their Beyblade and know its strengths and weakness.

When I was a child, toy battling was either marbles or windup toys, or make-believe. And back then, there were die-cast metal toys such as the older Transformers and Shogun Warriors. But those toys were replaced by plastic and now cost so expensive in today's toy pricing. But to my surprise, Beyblades which were once plastic are now metal and as a father, seeing metal incorporated to toys once again is great!

My son is a big fan of the animated series and he introduced me to the concept of Beyblade. I've watched and saw how the toys and the research into the toys introduced him to the concept of attack, defense, balance and stamina. He learned about the force of objects colliding, recoil, strategy on how to use his grip/launchers, etc.

As a father, I can see the educational value of this toy, but I can also see how much fun they are too place, especially how they are designed for battling. How cool is that?

And there are kids and adults who take it even further for competitive play and switching parts out and competing at tournaments.

So, for parents...Beyblades can be very addicting. Sure, it can cost a bit much when you start delving into ordering overseas for better Beyblades, especially for stadiums. But for the time that I have with my son and both of us enjoying these games together, that time is priceless!

Also, it's something that he can learn from and these are toys that even older people, yes...parents can enjoy playing with their kids as well!

So, on to the review of EARTH VIRGO:

Earth Virgo (BB-60A) is a stamina Beyblade that uses GB145BS. GB145 is for its gravity ball spin track (has two tiny bee-bee's or bearings), while using a BS tip (Bottom Spike) to maintain spin.

It's one of the toughest Beyblades we own!

JUDGMENT CALL:

We are currently in the process of testing Earth Virgo in several Hasbro and Takara Tomy stadiums but I can say that we first tested Earth Virgo against 31 Hasbro and Takara Tomy beyblades and we completed the Lion's Lair stadium and it had a record of 56W-21L-3T (non-modify, using original parts, out of 5 round battles). Right now, we are testing Earth Virgo on other stadiums.

But Earth Virgo is a good scrapper type of Beyblade. No matter how hard it gets hit, it still tries to stay up and its track and tip really help maintains the stamina of this Beyblade, thus outlasting its opponent after being hit.

Personally, Earth Virgo performed much better than I thought it would. It didn't fare well against other tougher Beyblades like Twisted Tempo or Hades Kerbecs or even the left-spinning Meteo L-Drago which the rubber against Earth Virgo's ring really stopped him quickly.

But definitely a Beyblade that performs well and one that your child may want to have in their collection and use for battles.

5Great for Bey Blade Fans!Dec 13, 2011

My cousin loves these Beyblade tops. They're spinning battle tops. Kids can set two or more of them spinning then watch them battle it out! My cousin had asked for this and a few others ones the past couple gift giving occasions. He's always happy to get them!
