My son loves his Cars squinkiesAug 23, 2011
By Talvi Squinkies are little soft and squishy rubbery-plastic toys. If your child likes pretend play, there's a good likelihood that he or she will like Squinkies. And the chances are extra good if they like Cars. If not, this will probably have a very short play time. Keep in mind these don't have real wheels, they are made completely of rubbery-plastic squishy material that likes to attract hairs and dust.
The box has one warning: Choking Hazard - small parts and small balls. Not for children under 3 years. It is marked as 4+ although other Squinkies are marked as 3+.
My 3 year old son loves both of his Cars sets. He doesn't know a lot of the characters so he mostly plays with Lightning McQueen, Mater, and the fire engine. He likes lining them up in a train with Lightning in the lead and also does playacting with them. He is always Lightning and I am always Mater. =)
This set comes with:
-Lightning McQueen -Mater -Flo -Fillmore -Guido -Luigi -Sarge -Fire Engine -Francesco Bernoulli -Raoul Caroule -Grem -Green Ramone
They are small and I'd definitely not recommend that they get taken into a home with small children/babies. They tend to go missing frequently. My son likes playing with them in the bathtub.
These are "collectible" only in the sense that there are a lot them:
Girls -Disney (10 series) -Barbie (4 series) -Hello Kitty (3 series) -Cubes and Spheres (6 series) -'Toons (6 series) -Doos (12 series) -Bubble Pack (18 series) -Easter Packs
Boys -Hot Wheels (3 series) -Cars 2 (5 series) -Marvel Universe (2 series) -Bubble Pack (3 series)
Then there are jewel cases, rings, bracelets, salon & spa, palace, tea set, gumball playhouse, cupcake playhouse, spiderman dispenser, skull cavern dispenser, globie dispenser...many designed like the candy/bubblegum/toy dispensers at the grocery store. You put in Squinkie money (or a dime or penny), and out comes a surprise. I'm sure I'm missing some, but it's a pretty big and growing universe. So even though there are no "rare" or even "uncommon" Squinkies (every package has the same ones), the likelihood is that kids can trade with friends if they want to.
Finally, Squinkies for boysAug 05, 2011
By C. D. Melton My son has loved Sqinkies since he first saw the commercials last Xmas, but they were all pink and lavender princesses. We did find him one package that was mostly animals with just a few ballgown-wearing princesses, but we still looked for something a little more gender-neutral. These are perfect! Just one warning, apparently they smell like catnip or something because our cat LOVES them, and I've found more than one of the old girly set "recycled" in the litter box. So I guess the good news is that they don't digest, in case a toddler ever swallows one.
These are adorableJul 28, 2011
By L. Lynch My boys love things that are small and things they can carry around. These are perfect. Granted they are just little pencil toppers but to a child with an imagination, they are so much more. They are detailed and durable. I am glad they came out with Squinkies geared toward boys.

Wheels Are Just Painted OnMay 22, 2011
By S. Herzberg It is made of soft gooey plastic, the wheels are just painted on. The four year old boy I gave them to didn't think much of a car that doesn't roll.
