CHEAPLY MADE! Lots of plastic and Less Detail compared to Cars 1 Diecast.Jun 28, 2011
By J. Kwon Looks like the Disney toys people decided to skimp out on the quality of the CARS 2 Diecast series. Such a disappointment. I am comparing the new Cars 2 diecast version to the Cars 1 version. -Instead of a full metal body, the Cars 2 Lightning has a plastic spoiler and front bumper. Spoiler already broke (after just a week) on my nephew's Lightning. -The under carriage has much less detail on the new one, and yes, my 3 year old noticed and said it doesn't have an engine. -The paint job is of poor quality. On the new ones, you can feel where the decals were placed on. The old Cars 1 versions must have had an extra clear seal because they are shinier and have a smoother surface. - The wheels are more narrow on the Cars 2 version.
Why couldn't they have just kept the same quality?? So cheap of Disney to downgrade on these toys knowing that the same people who bought Cars 1 products would jump on the new characters.

Disney goes big time CHEAP!!!Jan 24, 2012
By Morgan I can't believe how cheap these cars are made now. The plastic breaks off. Almost every fender and bumper on these cars my son plays with are broken off. The older cars were made of all metal and they still look great. The paint peels off too of these new cars. I would not recommend these to anyone until Disney gets there act together and makes a better product like they use to with the first cars sets.
Not as good as it once wasMay 03, 2012

I don't know why they switched out from Cars to Cars 2 action figures from metal to mainly plastic. This is predominently plastic and not as resilient as the old metal versions. I haven't found a metal version yet; and it's hard to tell the difference.
