G.I. Joe Resolute 5-Pack is solid!Sep 09, 2010
By Thomas Hackett This collection of figures came out before the G.I. Joe Resolute animation, and it was considered to be a preview of what was to come, but it actually is more of a collection of figures that are "inspired by" the movie. Kind of like those CD Soundtracks were it's music that wasn't actually in the film. I don't think Cobra Commander ever appeared like this, we never saw a B.A.T. in the Resolute animation and although Duke did use an experimental glider it didn't really look exactly like this. The Crimson troopers did appear, briefly, but are not as common as the blue troopers. With that disclaimer, I still think that this is a solid collection of figures! These color schemes really work great for Cobra figures and Duke is consistent with the style of how he appeared in Resolute. I really like the cardboard background image that's included in the box. It's a Jungle Cobra bunker setting from a special promotional video that debuted G.I. Joe Resolute animation to the world. Very cool. Almost all of these figures were essentially "repaints" of existing single carded figures. The thing is, each of the single carded figures was a huge success and you can get them here as a collection with new color schemes and a great price.
There are also two other G.I. Joe Resolute figure sets that are as accurate to the animation as Hasbro is likely to produce :
G.I. Joe Resolute Joe 7 pack set : http://www.amazon.com/dp/B003VYEAS0
G.I. Joe Resolute Cobra 7 pack set : http://www.amazon.com/dp/B003VYEAOE
These additional sets are great, but cost a lot more. If you just want a taste of "Resolute", and aren't a stuck on screen accuracy, this 5 pack is a great way to start.

Great action figures!Dec 08, 2011
By mom of boys My 8yo son received this set as a birthday present when he asked for "Army Men like they had in the 1960s" (along with a pack of the green plastic army men, popularized in Toy Story). We weren't really sure what he had in mind, either the small plastic guys or the larger 12" GI Joe's, but because he has enjoyed other action figure size toys, we hoped these would do the trick. And they have! Both he and his older brother have enjoyed playing with these guys, their interchangable weaponry, etc. He also received two other Joes, and a tank, along with a set of MARS GI Joes.
Although we've never seen any of the movies or anything for him to recreate storylines, these GI Joe figures have encouraged imaginative play, and cooperative play between brothers. We've enjoyed them in our house! (And I personally find them a much better alternative than the WWE action figures he had also requested...)
Great Pack.Jan 19, 2011
By David Ben Avram Great pack for displaying. Cobra Commander is the coolest of the 5 and the officer and trooper are 2nd and 3rd while Duke is 4th and the B.A.T. figure is my least favorite but still cool...overall great set and for the price its a must for any fan of the joes.

I feel like an idiot...May 02, 2012
By Chad A. Lampman Based on the other sets getting such positive reviews, I thought that these new figures would be at least somewhat near the quality of the ones I played with 20+ years ago. I was frustratingly wrong. If you are looking to share with your child some of the magic you experienced as a youngster playing with well-constructed G.I. Joes, pass on this purchase. On their own, they are cheap at best, compared to the ones produced when you were young, a ball of aluminum foil would be a better purchase.

Happy little boys with GI JoeFeb 03, 2010

"Mystery Shopper"
It's not an educational toy, it is a action figure, and just what my boys were hoping for to play with for the holidays. They play with them daily, and hold up well. Was a good deal to get all 5 at once.
