The Harry Potter Flashlight errr WandDec 26, 2008
By D. C. Blanton
"Blind Clown"
This is a cool little product to own if you're a Harry Potter fan, and it makes an excellent flashlight too.
It looks just like Harry's wand in the movies, only a little bigger, probably so they could shove the electronics inside of it. It takes two AAA batteries. The whole tip of the wand is a bulb for the light, which you can turn on and off by waving it or by tapping it. The light is very bright when turned all the way up. You can adjust the brightness and dimness of the light by pressing and holding a button (which is disguised as part of the wand and not just a button sticking out).
It also comes with a very nice display box to put it in when you're not using it. All in all, it's a cool product to own if you're a Harry Potter fan and want to pratice some spells.

All i wanted and more!Apr 18, 2008
By Alexander Salazar I love my new Harry Potter Illuminating Wand. It looks real, feels and weights fine, and the light function is quite fun. It's also most brighter than i expected; it can actually be use like a flash light if the power goes off. Plus it looks very enduring and you can play and "practice" your spell casting as much as you want with it. It doesn't looks fragile at all. It also comes with another function that allows you to adjust the brightness of the light as you see fit. I recommend it.

This IS the same as $26.99 wand sell in Barnes&NobleSep 21, 2011
By Yuan J. Lin I bought this item and assumed that this is the 1st generation of Harry Potter Illuminating Wand by Noble Collection which shows as the package in the amazon.com website. However, it came with the 2nd generation of HP wand as sold in Barnes&Noble which has tag price of $26.99 online.
Anyone with some research would know that the difference between the 1st and 2nd generation is that the 1st generation wand dose NOT has the battery key opener, which is easy for loading the battery but the 2nd generation has less detail of color in the wand and looks more like a toy (even they may come from the same modling, but the color make a lots difference).
I don't know why the seller post the box of 1st generation wand and ask for $39.99, but actually selling the 2nd generation product which has different product and package (there is no Harry Potter image on the outside box for the 1st generation package).
The image on the website is misleading. You will get the less quality color HP wand even it's the 2nd generation with battery key !! which you can buy with $10 less from Barnes & Noble

The Wand we've been looking for!Apr 23, 2010
By J. Mcdermott My son (7yrs) is a huge Harry Potter fan and the challenge has been finding a wand that he can play with that doesn't snap on the first day he gets it! This wand is a bit pricey...almost 50 bucks after shipping, way more than I ever expected to spend on a toy like this, but if you have a true harry potter fan who loves to run around the house pretending he's the chosen one, this is probably the best wand out there as far as durablility goes. Another cool thing about this wand: It lights up when you flick it! very cool! we are happy with our purchase, and my son does take really good care of it because he likes it so much!
