Bumblebee is big, tough and loud.. but very coolJun 04, 2007

As part of the wave of toys to tie in with the 2007 Transformers movie, Cyber Stompin Bumblebee is the latest amongst many Bumblebee movie related toys to hit the market.
The Cyber Stompin line, has huge figures much larger then their normal figures that are posible, adjustable and very detailed looking but don't Transform. So they are mostly nice to play with for the little extra perks they provide, over the fact that they change into anything else like most toys with the name Transformers do.
Cyber Stompin Bumblebee comes with two huge buttons on his chest. When pushed they will provide a sound out of speakers on the back of its legs. One sound is a robotic mechanical walking sound effect and the other strangely enough is a few seconds of the old Transformers cartoon theme from the 1980s show. Also he has two buttons on his arm that will effect his fists and also make a sound as if a rocket was being fired off. One hand actually shoots out of the arm with the push of the button, the other will just spring forward and go back into place as you let go of the button. To top it all off the eyes will light up at various points, becoming a light blue color. When you have it on its full on mode after buying it, the figure lights up and makes sounds when you move it about even if not pushing the buttons.
Its a good bargain here, considering the size of the figure and all of the little surprises located upon it with the push of buttons and movements. It is nice to display and can take a punishment from a kid having a good time taking advantage of all it can offer. There aren't really many negatives besides the fact that while it plays the old G1 cartoon show theme, this Bumblebee has no relation or similarities to the old name sake besides the fact that he is yellow and black painted. Also the fact that a Transformer costs a bit more but can't Transform may be a weird notion as well. But this toy does make up for its short comings. It may be Bumblebee in name only but it has moveable arms and legs and looks quite impressive when standing next to some of the smaller toys. Most kids will get a kick out of this variant of the movie character Bumblebee.
As of this posting there are only two figures in the Cyber Stompin line, this one and Transformers Movie Cyber Stompin Optimus Prime. Both are pretty similar but the Optimus figure seems to have more of the look of the classic character over Bumblebee. But they probably should have made a Decepticon figure as well as we have two heroic large sized characters and no one for them to battle. Seems a bit out of place to make two good guys bigger then everyone else with all these features and options and no one for them to do battle with while you play.
I do recommend this toy though. As a fan of old school Bumblebee it is nice to see this new version in such an impressive and well detailed toy. The price is right, the toy is well built and it is fun. Even if its just there to display on a shelf, it will make people stop, look and play with it just to see what it does. At first it looks a bit over done in the box but once you take it out of its binds and let it loose, any kid will have a field day with this figure. A very nice re creation of the movie character, one of many Bumblebee figures now out and about in honor of the movie. Out of all of the Bumblebee's out there, this is definitely one of the better figures to carry the Bumblebee name on it.
Try it out, I think you will enjoy and be glad you did.

slightly confusedNov 10, 2007
By S. Vroman This is a great toy with excelent sound effects. I don't necessarily understand why they decided to make a Transformer that doesn't transform but my son loves it anyway. Just thought I'd mention that we bought this at Target for $19. I never would have considered buying it at the price listed here.

Unfortunately, and only after receiving the toy and reading other customer opinions, do I realize this toy does not transform. I feel fooled by Amazon because I consider its advertising as biased by making us believe that by getting the Hasbro Transformers Movie Cyber Stompin Bumblebeewe were obtaining a true transforming toy. Could I return it? or should I be more cautious on buying anything from this well respected on-line store?

My son got this for an early christmas present from his grandma, and he was very bummed when we found out that it DID NOT TRANSFORM. I mean it is a transformer....It does make a lot of noise which my son loves, but he was really disappointed that it didn't transform and i guess we will have to check out the toys better next time.

Not no $44 dollars worth.Dec 04, 2007
By Sad in Texas Got this toy for our son, knowing he's a big Bumblebee fan and thinking that wow, good reviews, sounds like it holds up great and should make a little guy happy.....well it's not a $44 dollar happy. We both would have been happier to buy it at WalMart for the advertised $19.99. Yes, size in nice, does make some neat sounds but that's it....I, like another reviewer noted, really needed to READ ALL THE PRINT...me not being into the Transforers, thought this would transform...well no it does not....yes when you get it in the mail it's plain as day on the box but it's not very clear on the Amazon site, disappointment. So my thoughts...really look around for a better price.
