I bought this for my senior aged husband and we had so much fun constructing this castle. The parts are divided into 10 bags so it is easy to keep the parts straight while constructing. There are NO written instructions and none are needed because the graphics are so detailed. The colors of the pieces are easily discernible. This is a top quality product. Some of the smallest pieces were duplicated just in case but no parts were missing. The whole castle came together without a hitch and looks outstanding and so true to the books/movies. Even the staircase folds up like a fan and there is even a face in the flames of the fireplace. The bookcase has a key and opens and closes as well as other movable parts. The set contained all the main characters except Ron Weasley and Hagrid - guess we will have to construct one of the other kits to get them. We had fun!

No Connecting pieces for other Castle, but otherwise greatJun 23, 2011

I love Legos and love Harry Potter, so I've been collecting the recent releases - I got the large Hogwarts Castle for Christmas and was excited when they announced this kit as an expansion that could be attached. However, while every section of each Castle set has pieces with holes on their sides, LEGO did not include the corresponding hinged part that would connect the holes together. I used other pieces from my personal collection to rig the Castle together, however I did not have the correct colors (but I'm not that picky) Other than that this kit is fantastic! Lego has made all the towers similar, so I had fun swapping some of the rooms to make the Castle match my own vision for it. Happy playing!

My son loves this castle toy. I think it is great. We have acquired a ton of Harry Potter Legos for his past birthdays. He just bought this castle with his bday money. It has a lot of key features in a small structure. Tons of play time because the bridge explodes. I would highly recommend this castle to any Harry Potter or Lego collector. Loads of fun for the price.

My son did have fun building and playing with this set, but the exclusion of the pieces required to connect it to the original Hogwarts set cost it a star. If they are going to market it as an expansion to the original Hogwarts, then I think that they should be obligated to provide pieces that will make it connect easily. I also canabalized my son's collection to enable them to connect, but I shouldn't have had to.

I ordered Lego Harry Potter Hogwarts 4867 for my grandson's birthday. The box was bent and had been opened and retaped closed. When my grandson opened the box for his birthday, there was a missing piece. I am very disappointed at the quality control in Amazon's products.
