5Lego Grievous star fighterMar 28, 2011
By ddwikes
The Lego Grievous star fighter is a very durable, playful, and fun to build model. There are many interesting features on the star fighter and minifigures. The star fighter has four rockets that come out of the "wings", two on both sides. It also has a bomb that is located on the bottom of the fighter that is released by hand and will drop to the floor. My favorite part is the sliding cockpit that closes and opens. However, be aware that none of Grievous' lightsabers, or gun, or extra arms will fit into the cockpit. There is also a manually moving tail fin which is vertical when flying and horizontal when landed. General Grievous has 4 arms and 4 lightsabers plus a gun. The set also comes with a jedi named Nadaar Vebb from the Star Wars: The Clone Wars t.v. series and a medical droid of Grievous'. Lastly the set comes with a swivel chair for Grievous to sit in and be repaired by his droid and a rack for his lightsabers and gun. There is only one little thing that is wrong with the set but it makes me laugh. That thing is Grievous is only the same size or shorter than all the other characters in which the Star Wars: The Clone Wars series he is taller and more bulkier than all the other people. Overall, the set is very fun to play with and is very durable which makes for many hours of playtime. As an experienced Lego builder, and being fourteen, I've built many sets which are much larger than this(Venator-Class Republic Attack Cruiser and AT-OT with Dropship) so I know a good set when I see it and a great one while I build it. The set has a little over 450 pieces, is not very complex, and took me one hour to build. Yet being for less experienced builders it may take more time. I would recommend it to 7 year old kids and up. However, I'm sure with enough patience and skill, kids younger than seven could build this set as well. I even have an eight year old sister who, when she was seven, built the Anakin's Y-Wing Star Fighter with my limited guidance. Don't worry about the pieces not staying together just be sure you put it together well and follow the directions thoroughly. Thank you for reading and hoped this has helped you decide on your purchase.

4AwesomeAug 30, 2010

I got this toy because I liked the awesome General Grevious that came with it, the ship is in amazing detail with cool flick missals and a sweet tracking missal, the new jedi that came with the set is awesome. I think that this set should be built by intermidiate and above. I would recomend [ASIN:B003F7WLAM LEGO Star Wars Plo Koon's Jedi Starfighter (8093)]] to go with this set.

5It's LEGO---need I say more?Oct 03, 2011

Bought this as a birthday present for my turning 5 grandson. He is a LEGO and Star Wars nut like his father before him. The set is rated for 8- to 14-year-olds, so he and his Dad had to work together to build it, but he was very happy with it. My son stated that this product has the same drawback that all LEGO Star Wars sets have: It's not really meant to be played with once it's built. They both consider that a minor drawback because LEGO bricks from the sets can be used to build so many different things. LEGO rules!!
