A Simply Sweet Set!!Nov 21, 2010
By Lego Maniac 101
"C.P.H."
I bought this set because it was a good price and because it came with two awesome figures. This set comes with one very rare Plo Koon figure which has a very detailed soft plastic head and a very nice printed torso. Plo Koon is equipped with a lightsaber which has a silver hilt and a light blue blade. This set also comes with one R7-D4 Astromech Droid figure which has a nice printed head and torso. The Jedi Starfighter itself is a very interesting build and when finished it looks very much like the one from the movie, and it has a great color scheme. The Starfighter is equipped with a single person cockpit which is outfitted with an ejection mechanism to safely launch Plo Koon out of the ship in an emergency. There is also a seat in front of the cockpit for R7-D4. The ship also has a tool attachment beside the cockpit for Plo Koon's lightsaber. On the underside of the ship there is also foldable landing gear. Well, here are the basics of the set:
The good things :-)
Plo Koon
R7-D4
Lightsaber
Starfighter
Cockpit
Ejection mechanism
Tool attachment
Astromech seat
Color scheme
Printed Republic symbol piece
The bad things :-(
Stickers
Over all, I very highly recommend this set.

Surprisingly stable! Awesome LegoOct 15, 2011
By FreeSpirit When our sons put Lego's together, we hope that the units will stay together and not fall apart. It seems to be a 50-50 record so far. I was convinced that given the wings of this set, they would surely come apart. Not so! Even though the wings are attached with just a push-in circular hook type thing, the wings stay in securely. The starfighter say securely intact and looks great! Love the unique emergency eject feature in the cockpit!

Fun To BuildAug 26, 2010
This set is easy and fun to build. I liked how r7-d4 sat in a compartment. But what I don't like about it is that the wings are
hard to build. I like the minifugures and the landing gear.

Jedi in trainingNov 21, 2010
By Paul My boy loves this spaceship.
It was his first medium sized lego kit.
The detail is great, lots of visual steps in the instructions, he didn't need any help.

The Koon!May 12, 2011

I think this is a great set overall. Lego does a great job usually, and this set doesn't disappoint. I have several (maybe about 12) Star Wars sets and this one is one of my favs. Great minifigs, fun build, clever interactivity, and good value for the money.
I think that the design of the ship is fantastic. It was fun to see it come together in the build. There were a bunch of stickers that need to be placed just so, or it will be uneven. The stickers in the cockpit give it a nice extra level of detail. I know people hate stickers, and I can understand. But to me, eh, not so bad. The Astromech Droid fits sideways into the ship's hull, which others think is awkward, but I think it looks great. The landing gear is sturdy and allows for nice display. There is a place for Plo's lightsaber on the side of the cockpit. Others don't like that aspect, but works for me. The best part of the design is the mechanism that ejects Plo out of the cockpit: The cockpit windshield fits on just so that in can easily pop off with Plo when you press up on a level on the bottom. I think is one of the best interactions I've seen on a Lego set. Gotta hand it to these guys. Clever.
The minifigs are a big plus. The brown, R2-D2 wannabe is beautiful, nice detail. And Plo Khoon is one of my favs of all time. People don't like the rubber head mold, but why? I think it's fun to touch. The respirator tusk-like parts would snap off if it wasn't rubber.
Sturdy design for play, but looks great on the shelf. I hope Lego will continue to make sets as solid as this one for a fair price! This is a must for any Lego and/or Star Wars collection.
