5A Computer on WheelsJun 21, 2002

A toy with almost 250 pieces is worth [price]. I have seen it at almost every store with legos in it. It's an awesome item towards a Star Wars collection. You can turn Artoo's head in any direction. You can also press a button on his back to see his tool mechanism. R2-D2 is almost as fun as Darth Vader, but it is more fun than the Stormtrooper and C-3P0.

5For your kid OR the kid in you, it's cool!May 08, 2002

I got this as a birthday present..I've just started building it but I have to say I'm enjoy myself immensely. At over 200 pieces, you can't get bored but for an 8 year old they might get frustrated with that many pieces. The instruction book shows you exactly how to build each part of R2D2 and has scale drawings of certain pieces so you don't use the wrong piece(some pieces look similar but are different lengths).

R2 also has a little probe that comes out and interchangeable 'eyes'. It's pretty sturdy but I'm not about to drop it to find out if it'll stay that way. He does move pretty well but only on smooth surfaces. If you love to build and love Star Wars, you gotta get this!

5Prime LegoSep 11, 2002

I just got this as my 5 year old son's first 8-year-old lego because he was burning through the 7-year-old ones in just a few minutes. It was great. We just had to tell him how to count pieces for each step, caught him skipping a page once, but let him do the building. OK, I helped with the rubber bands! Definitely worth the money, turns out beautiful. He's already tearing it down for the first rebuild.

4R2 is COOL!Jul 31, 2002

Technic R2-D2 is one of the few technic sets I own, and for good reason. I comes with a few cool features that are, just like the purpose of technic, very fun to build. The wheels are fun because the move. a rubber band system that enables one to deploy and retract the center wheel at will. If you open a little door in front, and push down a lever in the back and a little hacker devise comes out. he also boasts a 360 degree turning head! WOW! You can't do much aside from what I mentioned, unless you create your own droid or something. The most fun part about this set is the extremely in depth and challenging building.
