VERY Disappointed, worst online toy we have triedJan 18, 2010
By J. Black My daughter loves online pets. She has loved her webkinz and club penguin. She also loves littiest pet shop so last year we bought a littest pet shop VIP which were kind of the series that came out before these. She enjoyed the VIP site and she was so excited to see these new online toys. It was on the top of her birthday list. I had to look around to find the pet she wantd. I assumed the pet I bought would be the pet she would log on and get to play with, like a webkinz. This is not the case. After about 20 minutes of trying to login the code, I finally did and it let her choose a pet to make up. Then at every mouse click, the site kept asking to upgrade to a premium membership , for [...]. Buying the pet only gives you a 30 day trial and during that trial almost everything my daughter tries, buying food, clothes, furniture says you need to upgrade so you can basically do nothing with the trial except create a pet and walk around. This is exetremly disappointing. Between my kids we have tried lots of sites and this is hands down the worst. Some sites have deluxe or premium memberships but still let kids play certain games/activites for free for at least a year if not longer when buying a toy/plush. Littest pet shop online you are buying the toy, don't expect anything more then the toy. My daughter is sad because even for the 30 days they gave her she can do nothing on the site. I refuse to pay, [...]. I understand the extras and upgrades sites have. We have even tried a few of them but for much less with much more to offer. For example for [...] I could get 12 years or more on webkinz! I am sorry I did not read these reviews before she got this for her birthday. Shame on hasbro for changing the VIP site to this new site and making kids feel ripped off especially in this economy. This experience has turned me off from purchasing any future littiest pet shop products!

Misleading, only includes TRIAL membership for online playDec 29, 2009
By J.H.S. I gave my girls Pet Shop VIPs last year for Christmas. The VIPs created a virtual counterpart of the stuffed pets they received. We also received one year of online access for each pet. This year, they requested and received the new Littlest Pet Shop LPSOs. I purchased 2 pets and attempted to set up their online access today. I noticed the LPSO pet uses a different web site than the VIP pets. Well, turns out the LPSO pet is only good for a 30-day trial of online access. If you want another 30 days, it'll cost nearly $7. And an entire year, (which you get automatically with webkinz), is FIFTY-SEVEN DOLLARS!!! I thought I was seeing things. My immediate reaction was to pack both dolls back up and exchange them for Webkinz. My daughters already received four Webkinz for Christmas and they really liked their LPSOs and wanted to keep them. My older daughter asked if she could use some of her Christmas money to pay for a subscription. I told her to try the trial first and see if it's worth the $57. So far, they appear to enjoy the online play, but I'm pretty peeved that the toy was so misleading. Nowhere on the box does it indicate that the online play is trial only, unless you pay additional money. Also, you do not get an online counterpart of the pet you purchase. Once enrolled, you create a totally new pet. That makes me wonder why they're even selling the stuffed versions at all. Just more money down the drain, unless you specifically bought it for the stuffed animal only. Given that these things are marketed as "online", it seems very misleading. One last gripe, trying to find and connect to the same servers is an exercise in futility. My girls tried to find each other in their virtual worlds. However, all of the servers have "0" for the number of online players and my girls get different lists of servers when they log on at the same time using different computers. Overall, I'm disappointed and will not be purchasing these again in the future. I'll stick with Webkinz.

Buyer beware! Don't get this crap.Jan 13, 2010
By DJD We have bought the VIP pets in the past for our daughter. Well, these LPS versions have their own world in which you are only allowed to play in for a total of 30 days total. Even if you buy several animals, unless you make new accounts for each of them, you are limited to 30 days. It took 10 days before I found out that they had changed this site so you made your own pet using some currency. So my daughter will only get to play for 20 days now with all her pets. After that you have to pay a subscription. The process of putting the animal online was so cumbersome that it took me over 30 minutes of my time. Do NOT buy these lame toys.

This is a complete rip-off no where on the commercials or on the package does it tell you that you are paying for a TRIAL. It is almost as bad as FreeRealms which is in no way free after the first week or so.

Website doesn't workJan 09, 2010
By C. Schmidt This toy was a real bummer for us this Christmas. My 7 year old bought it with her very own Christmas money and was so excited to get on the website and play. Unfortunately the website does NOT WORK. We specifically got it for this purpose and my daughter was very upset that it didn't work in this way. This toy is extremely misleading and a complete waste of money.
