 Key does not work and waste of money.Dec 15, 2009

I bought this toy for my little niece birthday. She loved it upon opening it. However, when she tried to use the secret code found on its collar on the online site. It does not work! She's disappointed and I'm annoyed at the false advertisement of this product. DO not buy this product if you're thinking of using its secret code for an online pet. The secret code does NOT work!

I have a LPS VIP--it is a penguin. The website has a map, so you never get lost, it has lots of games, you can only interact with the people on your friends list.
This game doesn't have as much stuff to do as webkinz does. It's not as much fun as webkinz either. If you didn't know which one to choose, I would prefer webkinz to get.

"shoppin' mama"
I purchased this item for my 8 year old daughter. She loves Littlest Pet Shop pets and her favorite "animal" is a penguin. It was a perfect gift for her. It was easy to set up the on-line pet and my daughter was able to play the games and explore the site. She is ready for another VIP pet to add and play with on-line. It's a GREAT toy.

This is just a copy of webkinz. My daughter hates littlest pet shop. She collects webkinz. This are just big-headed, ugly, overpriced copies of webkinz. I recommand webkinz over these.

bought this toy for a bday gift - went online several days in a row to see "site is closed". opened a chat with Hasbro customer service and they said "The VIP world went dark on 12/7/10. We discontinued the VIP line in 2008 and had been communicating the end date with users for several months before the end date. May I ask when you received your VIP penguin?" we responded "We ordered it online Feb 2010 for a birthday gift. We spent almost $35 for this animal and now we cannot use it? Hasbro rep responded "So sorry for that . My recommendation would be to return it to the place of purchase for a refund." These toys shouldn't be sold anymore!
