A fun toyJan 12, 2010
By Aaron P. Schaffer I bought this for my 3 year old because he loves star wars and thought this would be neat for him. It's a little hard to cock the gun and I have to give him a hand with it, but he loves it and wants to take it everywhere. The darts do come out fast, but I shot myself with it at point blank and it didn't leave any marks, so I'd say it's safe. The red light that is used as an aimer is pretty neat as well. Overall, it is a good product.

My Son loves it. Me not so much.Jan 08, 2010
By D. Daigle I purchased this for my eight year old Son for Christmas. I had already bought him a Nerf C-35, and then saw this on special deal for $9.99. Though he isn't a Star Wars fanatic, he does enjoy the movies enough that I thought he might enjoy it. Plus, we thought having this gun would be nice when one of his friends comes over to play. Based on the reviews and the discount price I was leery, and figured it could always go back if it was awful. I completely agree with the reviewers who say that it is very powerful, and potentially dangerous. We refer to it as the "Star Wars Blast-Your-Eye-Out Gun".
In spite of the issue I have with the potential dangerousness, I do let him play with it, but only to shoot at targets. He sets up a target range in the playroom with empty pudding and cereal boxes. Even with the restrictions placed on its use, he still seems to thoroughly enjoy it. When I just asked him why he likes it so much, he said, "I like it because it is very accurate, more accurate than my Nerf guns. I also like the "laser" sight." When asked what he doesn't like about this gun he told me, "I wish it had a clip, instead of having to load each bullet separately".

Great for the fan of both Star Wars and Nerf...Jun 01, 2010

This is a great "Nerf" gun for the Star Wars fan. The darts do fire a bit forcefully, as some have described, but that's why children need to keep boundaries with this and any Nerf gun. Teach them that and keep their eyes covered (Nerf glasses or any protective goggles would do, as would the Captain Rex Clone Trooper helmet). Do that, and this one is a blast to play with. The darts fire straight and aim seems to be generally better than the average Nerf gun. Durability seems to be pretty good as it's withstood 6 months of rough and tumble play so far from my nephew and is still shooting well. Standard Nerf bullets will work in this, although the fit is a bit snug (have to make sure they're all the way in for it to fire properly too). The targeting light, activated by pulling the trigger slightly, is a nice touch too, though I wish it were brighter. Overall, my nephew has no complaints, which means I don't have any either.

Fun while it lastedApr 09, 2010

My son (and most of his friends) love nerf dart guns. This was a blast (literally) for about 3 weeks. Then it broke. Oh well.

My son loves it...Mar 30, 2009
By Brooklyn Mom My son begged and begged for this and so we bought it for his birthday. He does love it. But the other reviewers are right--the darts are pretty forceful, he hit his sister with one (of course) and she yelled out (though it didn't leave a mark). And the biggest frustration has been the fact that it only comes with three darts, which were all lost within 48 hours. Now we're ordering a new bag of Nerf micro darts, but I'm bummed that this toy didn't specify if those are, in fact, the correct refills. We're just hoping. Hasbro could have done a better job by either providing more darts or the information on how to get them.
