Awesome product.Jun 29, 2007
By Ian Pugh I have to write about the durablility of this toy. I'm huge Star Wars collector and last night while rearranging things in my apartment my X-Wing which is placed on top of a six foot tall book shelf, was knocked off. I was horrified. I was so affraid that the cannons or wings would break. I looked and all the wings and cannons had fallen off but they were all intact! I easily put the ship back together and made sure that it's as good as it was when I first bought it. I was so relieved and amazed! I highly recommend this item.

13-y/o ReviewJul 01, 2009

"Athanasios Lazarou"
Cathrine Lazarou is my mother, so doin't worry about the title.
This is a very nice set. I got it for my Birthday, and I like it a lot. My only 2 complaints are that: 1)the wings shake/are seperate from the body, and 2)the one cannon keeps falling off. I fixed that by putting some ceran rap over the hole in the cannon, and than attaching it to the wing. All in all, however, it is an awesome set. I would highly recommend you getting it.
Oh, and by the way, for those of you who wonder where to put your small accessories, there is a secret compartment behind the seat in the cockpit. Just push/pull, whatever, the seat front, and than just stuff your stuff behind the seat. ;)

"Totally AWESOME!"Dec 28, 2007
By Mama Kim This was a Santa gift for my 6 y/o. It was larger than we expected, and the package under the tree was quite impressive!
My son LOVES this. He has an R2D2 that fits in it perfectly. Luke wasn't easy to get in the seat, but he does fit (watch out for the hands - they do come off!).
My only minor complaint is that one of the laser cannons kept falling off. That was solved with a little super glue. Otherwise, this is, in my son's words, "Totally AWESOME!"
Great for collectors, not durable enough for active playJan 03, 2011
By QBeDo I got this x-wing for my son a year ago, as it was the only x-wing toy on the market at the time (it was also priced a lot lower than the $199.99 it's at as of this writing - 1/2/11). The details of this particular model are undeniably accurate, down to the removable "moss" and the burn marks on the vehicle.
The manufacturing company made a lot of "improvements" over the x-wing my brother and I had when we were kids, most of which seemed aimed at the collector's market. The wings can now be removed, and the four laser cannons are still removable as well. Seems like a bonus, but these laser cannons fall off more easily than I remember and the wings get askew easily. Very easily. My son's x-wing has mainly collected dust under his bed for the last 6 months, because the cannons fall off every time he plays with it and he gets frustrated by having to put them on again and again and again (he's 5&1/2).
I should note that he doesn't play with it hard. The cannons simply won't stay on, even during the lightest play (he and I were playing yesterday, and while I was "flying" the x-wing through the house 2 of the cannons kept falling off any time I banked through a turn in the house). In fact, 1 of them simply won't stay on against the forces of gravity. This x-wing has never been dropped, never been slammed into anything, never been mistreated. The gun simply won't stay on any more.
Back in the day, R2 was a built-in part that you would push to make the wings open and close. They've since switched to a lever in the back that opens & closes the wings, leaving a slot for an action figure R2. Sweet. Except that the switch doesn't seem to open the wings all of the way after a while, and now the wings are cockeyed. Again, under extremely mild play.
The details are cool, and this toy is ideal for any collector who wants the ultimate x-wing to finish off their scale model of Dagobah. If you actually want to play with your toy, however, this toy isn't designed to be played with.
great for the Star Wars loving sonJun 11, 2010
By Jason Gibson If my son was rating this he would've given it a 5. However I am the one that purchased it and am a bit disappointed that it broke within a year. I realize that nobody forced me to purchase it at that price or to give it to a 5 year old but I did. The wing attachments broke, likely from abusive use by my son so be careful if purchasing for younger, less careful child.
