5A piece of Transformer history!!!!Oct 12, 2009

This is Soundwave. The decepticon espionage agent and all around special operations workhorse. In toy form as a Takara reissue he is flawless with the ability to turn into a realistic representation of an 80's micro-cassette player and then become the ruthless robot that was known for being Megatron's right hand man.

His transformation is simple yet elegant and he comes with Buzzsaw as a micro-cassette to make the figure truly complete. He has batteries stored in his back that become his shoulder cannon and blaster rifle just like the original. Also this soundwave will only hold one tape but I prefer him to the two tape version because it makes him look more G1 accurate. One word of caution while I am speaking of the Micro-cassettes: THE TAPE DECK IS VERY BREAKABLE!!! USE EXTREME CAUTION WHEN INSERTING AND REMOVING TAPES FROM THIS FIGURE!!!!!!

That aside he really is a great toy and though he may be too old for kids who may break him, and for that matter have no idea what a micro-cassette even is, this G1 Takara reissue Soundwave is an integral part to any collector's decepticon forces!

I really didn't want Soundwave as a child, but I always wanted Laserbeak. The Takara version I got is pretty much exactly what I remembered the original to be. Made of the same hard plastic mold and is one of the quickest and easiest to transform. I find Soundwave kind of boring to transform and look at. The tape is a condor, Buzzsaw, which is orange. Buzzsaw is exactly like the red sticker Laserbeak. This is a one deck version Soundwave, so only one tape can fit in at a time. Is one of the bigger to midsize toys. His gun doesn't shoot.

Soundwave was pretty much in every episodes before the Movie, he is a little mono/dry, but one of the main character in the storyline.

Great toy. I purchased this item as a collector's item. I do not plan on removing it from the box. Great job. Item in perfect shape.

Soundwave is one of extremely few Transformers to look good in both robot mode and alt-mode.

Also shoots other robots out of his chest. How cool is that? LOL.

Arguably one of the best Transformers ever made. I honestly cannot imagine how I ever got through childhood without one of these, but I've since rectified that mistake :)

Such a great toy. My husband loved it so much. I happen to purchase a Soundwave from Comic-Con which included all 4 tapes. Thank You!
