My grandson loves Thomas and has quite an assortment of engines. We are now getting into some of the non-engine pieces. He loves all means of transportation, so I think the addition of a boat will fit into his collection quite nicely.
I see the Thomas set of trains, tracks, and other additions to be something that could be saved and passed down to his children. They are that well made. I also appreciate that they put the names of each on the bottom. He may know all of their names, but grandma frequently needs to cheat!

If you have the movie, "Misty Island Rescue" in you Thomas' DVD collection, you just have to have Captain! He is introduced in this movie along with Bash, Dash and Ferdinand. Captain is a member of the Sodor Search and Rescue team. He is of comparable size and has little rollers under his hull so your Thomas aficionado can roll him alongside of the other trains.
Our little guy gathers all of the "stars" of the DVD prior to the start of the video and places them next to him so they can be part of the viewing process.

I haven't given this toy to my grandson yet, but I know it will make a great addition to his Thomas collection :)
Both he and his little sister love playing with Thomas.
