Fast EngineNov 25, 2010

This is a plastic Trackmaster engine. It is not compatible with the wooden sets because it uses a plastic hook to connect the cars. There are a lot of Trackmaster engines out there. Diesel 10 takes one C battery. To install the battery, pull the top straight up. It helps to squeeze the sides a bit while pulling up. This is one of the faster Trackmaster engines. The two cars that come with it are fun because kids can put things inside. My kids like to use 2 x 2 Duplo blocks. Two of them fit in each car. If your kids ever saw the Thomas movie with Diesel 10, then they would like this engine. Diesel 10 is one of the few bad guy engines so it is fun to have it chase the other engines. Also, you can either push the train along the track while it is turned off or you can turn it on. You can normally find this for less than fifteen dollars. We started wtih a basic Thomas set and then added some track, switches and a few engines. My kids play with this a lot and it has held up well.
