5Great setDec 20, 2010

My son has been wanting Annie and Clarabelle for a while and this is the only place I have found them. The magnets work much better than the hook and loop of the bigger trains (don't break). Extremely fast delivery. very happy with product.

5Thomas' loyal coaches!Aug 18, 2011
By Grandma Zizzy
Prior to going into detail about Annie & Clarabel, a little of our own "Thomas" history... As first time grandparents, my husband and I wanted to start some type of collection for our grandson that he could possibly pass along to his own kids one day. Our grandson was 2 1/2 at the time, and had been talking a lot about a certain train named Thomas (a little fella whom - now seems hard to believe! - we'd never heard of.) After doing some research, it seemed the Take-n-Play line might be the perfect investment to engage and encourage his active imagination, as well as provide a fun way for us to interact with him. What a rewarding decision... we've had SO much fun together with this quality line of trains, vehicles and playsets! As he approaches 4, a large portion of our basement has become a wonderful Sodor land of make believe that we all enjoy visiting - and continues to hold his interest, which is quite a feat given the tendency at that age to move in and out of toy phases so quickly!

Annie & Clarabel are two of the 18 pieces of rolling stock available in the Take-n-Play line as of 12/11 --- if you have Thomas, you HAVE to have his loyal coaches! Annie & Clarabel are passenger coaches which were given to Thomas when he started working on his own branch line. They respect all of the engines, but particularly Thomas and Gordon; they're also quick to scold Thomas when he gets ornery - but he loves them dearly! Annie always travels facing & coupled to Thomas, with Clarabel coupled to Annie and facing backward... she prefers to watch the scenery! They're identical, orangeish-brown with light grey tops, a dozen little windows on each side, as well as each of their names (printed in white script) on both sides, and they have 4 light grey wheels. Take-n-Play's version has Annie making a face as if to say "Ohhhh!", and Clarabel is smiling. Annie & Clarabel first appeared on the original (Spring 2010) TNP Collector Checklist... Fisher-Price recently (March 2012) raised Annie & Clarabel's MSRP from $10.00 to $11.00 (well worth the $10.99 I paid for my grandson's.) They're listed under "Buddy Packs" on the 2010 Collector Checklist, and as "Two Packs" on the "final" 2010 as well as the 2011 Collector Checklists, and while they ARE, they are also rolling stock (meaning any cars or trucks that can't move under their own power, needing to be pulled.) My grandson keeps the majority of his rolling stock in a special "corral" (Musical Caboose, Annie & Clarabel, Sodor Supply Co., Storybook Car, Sodor Zoo Snake Car, Bubble Tanker, Sodor Cement Mixer, Spider Exhibit Car, Crocodile Special), and the other 8 are Troublesome Truck & Sodor Mining Co. (which stay at his Rumbling Gold Mine playset), Talking Troublesome Trucks & Quarry Car (which stay at his Rock Quarry Run playset with Mavis), Diesel Fuel Tanker (which he keeps at his Dieselworks playset), Farm Animal Car (which stays at his Thomas at the Farm playset), and Rocky (who stays with the Sodor Search & Rescue crew, of course!)

As always Amazon is the bomb. My kid wanted this and we could not find it anywhere locally. I looked on Amazon and as always they had it. They also had it cheaper than anyone else. My kid enjoys it and was happy which equals happy parent. No need to say more.

4Sturdy and cuteMay 07, 2012

I purchased this as a train kit for an upcoming overseas trip. I'm hoping that a small travel set will occupy my toddler during our flights. Heavy metal with cheerful paint and magnets that don't require extra effort to couple to the engine. Nice!
