4Fun for Kids (and Us!!!)Jul 06, 2009
By M. R. Sweeny "Dystopian Architect"
As you're casually passing by the toy aisle of the discount chain/toy store that you happen to frequent (in this case, Target), this humble looking figure happens to catch your eye on numerous occasions. You think, as you decide to pass it off as one of the clumsier molds in the TF ROTF line, what good would this figure be in little johnny's toybox (or rather, YOUR collection). Here's where the presumption ends.
After picking this sucker up, I found myself to be truly surprised by what Superion had to offer. He's now working his way into being what I regard as one of the neater entries into my cadre of TFs. Parents should note that this toy is among the best buys you could make, and hopefully an item that he'll (OR she'll) enjoy for a good amount of time. You get a bunch of scout figures and one deluxe that all form into one of the better-conceived combiner figures (this mold dates originally from the TRANSFORMERS: ENERGON line--- note the "crystals" that attach to each figures' torso) out there. Each part of Superion transforms into its own little robot. Each figure (and the sum thereof) amounts to a transformers smorgasborg of fun that goes on down the road. For the collectors, a fan-project modification for the hands has been made (check ebay for that little item) to further enhance the appearance of the aforementioned hands. Recommended.)

All in all, Superion may not be the hottest, coolest, or most intricate of the TF:ROTF line, but he sure delivers in the fun department.

4A simply must-have!Jun 30, 2009
By Pi "pi"
When I saw the release of the Aerielbots, I couldn't believe my eyes! I knew I had to have them!!! I cut-off all unnecessary expenses and finally pounced on it! :-)

Basically, you get 4 scout class jets (which form the limbs of Superion) and 1 deluxe class (Silverbolt, who is the torso). Not a bad deal!!

The transformations are pretty easy, except for Silverbolt, which takes a bit of getting used to and requires lots of time poring over the instructions! :-s But it's still worth it! And all of them look really cool in robot modes as well.

And the best part... they all combine to form Superion. But there ends the good stuff!

I kinda thought that Superion would be taller in height. At the moment, he stands just an inch or two above an Ultra class toy (I have a WingSaber & JetStorm) or Voyager Classic Megatron. So the whole 'towering above the Decepticons' factor is lost! :-s

Besides that, it's very difficult to pose Superion!! He doesn't have knees, and the connectors that hold the robots together as limbs don't lock very tight, so its possible in mid-stride, one of his legs might come off!

Overall... i think the concept is great, and I really love this set and I don't regret buying it. It's just that you wonder if the Hasbro guys thought something along the lines of, "Sure, it's got a lot of flaws. But you're getting Superion, so put up with the flaws!".

I'm putting up with it... and I love this guy! :-)

4great set if you like combinersFeb 17, 2010
By dragonspawn "dragon"
this review is in 2 parts for starters i got this set at traget for 19.99 great price yeah i will admit when i first enrgon episodes with combiners & then the toys get released to look like this i say to myself i will never buy energon combiners there flimsy, they have no hands or feet g1 combiners look beter than this but after i got energon superion for christmas what the heck get the 2 energon combiners as well as combiner fan i did even though despite the flaws of not being srudy in combined mode, not having realistic hands or feet i say energon combiners are great.

part 2

my only 2 complaints about this figure are hands/feet and when its time to combine its littel diffucult to combine the pegs you need to apply pressure on the limbs to from hands & feet to make in combined mode if the new combiner transformers and the abilty to combiner easy as show with armada figures, or g1 then these enrgon combiners wouldnt be soemwhat hard to do most of the time

5Best combiner I've come across!Sep 10, 2009
By John B. Connor "dragonsandsuch"
This Superion is teh best combiner I have come across - much better than the original G1 version. There are no extra parts needed for the conversion. Instead, everything is right there as part of the individuals. The few accessories (the feet and hands) are usable in individual robot and jet modes as well.

There is also an appendage set you can get for this one (with more realistic looking arms, armor, and a rifle - all of which go with Superion and the individual jets). It is a bit pricey, but I found it well worth the money as it makes a great Transformer even better.
