4Transform, and Roll OUT !!!Oct 06, 2006
By D. Rapson "geekacres"
Like Swindle and Hound before him, Rollbar is a welcome addition to the Alternators line. I likely would have picked up Hound had I known about Alternators early on. But they are all essentially the same mold, which is nice for those of us who would just like this style of Alternator. And the reddish orange color does make this guy pop.

In his Jeep mode, there is some very nice detailing to Rollbar. The life like shocks on the wheels, the gear shift, and the detailing on the dashboard all make this Jeep look like a model that you might have built. The wheel cover is also quite sharp, and doubles as a place to store the laser pistol that comes with this Autobot offroader.

The first time I tried to transform Rollbar, he was a bit stiff in the knees. For whatever reason, neither of the legs would pivot around. I didn't want to snap the legs off first day out of the box. So I put him back into Jeep mode and came back a few days later. This time, the planets aligned and the Spark of Primus was upon us all. Success !!!

I've got to say, that as cool as Jeep mode is, the Robot Warrior thing really works for this guy. The articulated legs look like something I would expect to see in the upcoming live action movie. The way the head and chest area present themselves is just very cool, especially with the doors opened and flared out behind. I'm sure there are sleeker Alternators in the line, but as far as I am concerned, they just don't get any more rough and tumble than Rollbar !

5Transform and roll out!Apr 12, 2007

I've been buying up every TF Alternator I can get my hands on and Rollbar is the newest addition to my collection. Rollbar's transforming process went very smooth, easiest of all the Alternators I've owned so far. I think I'll keep him on display in robot mode, much better posability than the other TF Alternators I've bought so far.

Excellent attention to detail in this toy. Several joints are constructed such that if excessive force is applied, the parts merely pop off (rather than break off, like the original G1 Transformers tended to). However Rollbar takes **awhile** to transform into robot mode, imo.

5Great Jeep, Great Robot...if you can transform it!Dec 23, 2006
By Stephen G. Bialecki "Steve B."
OK. This has got to be one of the most complex/confusing transformers I have ever seen. It looks great as a jeep. It looks great as a robot. It's getting from one to the other which is just about impossible. I'd say you need an engineer to do it but I am an engineer. Maybe you just need a 10 y/o kid!

Anyway, the quality is great, the look is great and if you like transformers you'll like this toy.

5Great quality for the price.Sep 09, 2007

The toy is great. It's very sturdy during transformations. Moving it in the wrong direction won't break the toy. A piece may fall off, but it's done on purpose. It can be put back on easily.
