Soundwave rocks!Dec 02, 2008
By J. Yamamoto My 5 year old picked out soundwave, and we've had problems w/ the other transformers in the animated line. He can't transform a lot of them because their arms pop out really easy or it's meant for stronger hands than his, but Soundwave is perfect. It's easy enough for kids to do by themselves, and it's one of the rare ones that don't have something wrong w/ them and only adults can transform them. Lazerbeak is great too and fits onto the roof in car mode or on his arm in robot mode. Definitely recommended for those parents of young kids, that have kids that have a hard time actually transforming them.
Soundwave Forever!Feb 06, 2011
By Joe If ANYTHING good came from Transformers Animated, it would have to be Soundwave. Soundwave transforms into a blue and teal Scion xb-like SUV. He comes with Laserbeak who transforms into a guitar. Both characters are extremely durable and posable. In vehicle mode, Laserbeak can be tabbed into Soundwave's roof in either bird or guitar mode. In robot mode, Laserbeak can store on Soundwave's back or perch on his arm. But even more awesome, Laserbeak can be placed in Soundwave's arm to make him look like he's strumming Laserbeak. Supremely awesome.
If you are a Transformers fan in any way, shape, or form, this toy is a must have.
Great Soundwave.Feb 06, 2009
By Philip G. Malone I am a huge fan of the old transformers from the 80's and transformers in general. Soundwave was always my favorite transformer and I was really pleased when I got this toy. It looks like a bulky version of the old Soundwave design and has a good alt mode that fits Soundwave well because of the real box looking shape of the Scion XB. It like a cassete player on wheels with all of the designing of a cassete player and the play, back, forward, pause, and stop buttons. (They dont really push down just so you know). And the robot mode looks really godd and as I said before a bulky version of the original Soundwave. Durability is fine on mine. He is well put together and the joints fit really well. The only problem I have are his knees because he is somewhat wobbily. They are fine though because I have no big deal getting them in posissions. Lazerbeak is well made and is a cool little addition in homage to Soundwave's old casseticons. Overall I am very glad I got this figure and I highly recomend it to anyone who is a Soundwave fan or just a transformer fan in general. I say pick him up its worth it.

TFA Soundwave and LaserbeakJul 01, 2009

Very good articulation - but joints were loose, but a dab of superglue in the socket of the joints tightened them up nicely. Very show accurate, very impressive looking figure when along side other TFA figures. Great posability and has a cool gimmick ok his chest opening up like the original '80's toy. Nothing fits in there, just is a nice nod. Has a guitar that changes to Laserbeak - very simple transformation, but very static and no posability, unfortunately. If it was a little articulated, I would've given 5 stars.
I have him in a power stance slashing some wicked chords.

Hopefully the future of ScionJun 22, 2009
By Master Z Okay, maybe that's just a LITTLE unrealistic, but still, Soundwave is a great figure. The transformation is relatively simple, but still challenging enough for a Deluxe-class. Great possibility; ball/socket joints at the knees and elbows, and it's very solid standing on it's own. The vehicle mode is nice, too; great stability (it doesn't wobble), and the color scheme pretty much looks like something you'd see as the end result of "Pimp My Ride". And plus, on top of all that, it's very show-accurate, and overall just a truly great toy.
Laserbeak is probably the easiest Transformers toy I've ever owned, and easily one of the most fun when you're just incredibly bored. Flipping it back and forth between guitar and bird modes can actually be quite relaxing.
Overall, a great toy. Definitely worth retail value (about 13 to 15 bucks) but I wouldn't pay much more than that.
