Great animated versions of both Megatron and OptimusOct 09, 2008
By John B. Connor

I love this collection for a number of reasons:
1. Great looking Megatron that is obviously Megatron. (Too many incarnations of the Decipticon leader could have been anyone, but just named "Megatron".) The grey and black coloring and, of course, the arm cannon make it clear who this guy is. Really like the spaceship mode as well. Much better than the movie version.
2. Very nice Optimus that, gratefully, has the head with the face plate, not the mouth, (Optimus should not have a mouth!) unlike the other $10 version of Prime.
3. Very reasonable price that keeps me from having to spend twice as much to get the similar, larger versions of each.
4. Comes with a intro to the new series, which allowed me to preview the animated series to see if it would be worth buying.
The only drawback, in my opinion, is the "battle damage" paint patterns on both. Could have done without that.

Nice set for kidsJan 28, 2009

As far as transformers go, this is a nice set, and the kids enjoy the video (ages 4 and 5). Pieces can pop-apart, but can be popped back together. Not even a bad buy at full price.
Fell apart on Christmas morning...SERIOUSLY!!Oct 05, 2009
By Kristina My son adored theses toys for the short time he had them, but they eventually had to be SUPER GLUED in order to stay together. The DVD included is just a clip of a full length DVD that you can get for just a few bucks! They really did fall apart on Christmas morning- Megatron broke first and was never the same, and Optimus started breaking 2 days later. Would be a perfect toy if they stayed together, though.
GreatJan 25, 2009
By WorkingMom This was a hit at Christmas. They are a great size but one leg often comes complete off. You can just pop it back on so it isn't a big deal. We've seen the set elsewhere and they were much more expensive.
It is a pass!!!Jan 19, 2009

We bought this for our boys who are big Transformer fans. The problem is with the transforming part. It is definately not for young children as the transforming is very difficult. Even with the directions, it was hard to transform the toys. My sons never mastered it on their own. The plastic is very flimsy and breaks easily. These did not last a week before I found them in pieces and broke. I definately wouldn't buy these again.
