| | | Description: | | Even by DECEPTICON standards, BLITZWING is totally insane. He's got three personalities packed into his cyberium-steel chassis, and he argues with himself almost as often as he argues with other DECEPTICONS. The only person he listens to without interrupting is MEGATRON because all three of his personalities are terrified of the DECEPTICON commander. He carries a superheater cannon and a hyberfrost emitter to burn or freeze his enemies.
Add DECEPTICON power to your collection with this advanced-conversion, triple-change robot-to-vehicle figure. Detailed robot mode features three quick-switching faces, and can then be converted to tank mode with rotating turrets, or into its third mode, fighter jet! Blast missile projectiles from all three modes and plan your strategy for this DECEPTICON Berserker character.

Cool looking TransformerSep 10, 2008

This is a good looking Transformer and the only triple changer I've seen to date in which I liked all three forms. My only complaint with this one, however, is the it does not hold the vehicle forms that well. The pieces do not snap securely into place. The nose cone and the tail sag in jet mode, and the turrent will not stay securely in place in tank mode. Still a nice addition to my desk collection.

Probably one of the best in the Animated LineDec 12, 2008

Here we have Blitzwing, the first Triple Changer within the Animated toy line. Out of all the Animated figures I've bought so far, this one has impressed me the most, and I'll tell you why:
Firstly, as with ALL of the Animated toy line, his colors are wonderfully realized. They're spot on representations of the show colors. I certainly applaud Hasbro for this, since their color work on previous show toy lines has been dubious at best. The same goes for the build, model, and sculpting of the toy. It might as well have just clawed it's way out of the TV, and sat itself on my shelf. Hasbro's R&D departments have really mastered the TV-to-Toy jump this time around.
Second, His joints are actually really solid, sturdy, and overall stiff. This just about blew my mind, considering my other animated figures are plagued with absurdly loose, floppy joints right out of the box. I was pleased to find Blitzwing so dang sturdy. He takes just that right amount of force to move, pose, etc, and he stands with stability. Furthermore, because he does have the extremely robust joint systems that all the animated figures have, he's able to assume some pretty expressive poses.
Lastly, his human and tank modes are really nice. (His Plane mode is okay - we'll get back to that) The tank is a great futuristic looking thing, with lots of little details, and excellent part fit. It's a solid, paperweight-like tank mode. As stated before, his human mode has a lot of expression due to his well implemented joints. He's also nice and tall. The face turning gimmick is cute, and I like the tiny little nods to German military uniforms that you find his his helmet, shoulders, etc.
Of course, there are some minor quibbles too:
First, his plane mode, while nice and heavy, is a little strange looking. His giant tank treads don't really have anywhere to go, and they look pretty awkward on the plane. Plus the part fit is less sturdy in plane mode. GRANTED, it does look just like the TV show, so I guess this is more a complaint on the character design, and less on the toy itself.
Second, he has no real accessories to speak of. In fact, his back guns can't even be brought forward while in his human mode. What this means is you better be willing to take full advantage of his expressive joints, cuz he's got nothing else to work with. Oh how I wish he came with a gun, sword, stick, cocktail glass, book, or SOMETHING to hold! His hands aren't even ABLE to hold things, which makes matters even worse..... I eventually settled on a saluting-hand-on-hip pose..... *sigh*
Third, his wings are connected to his shoulders, not his back. They also are not able to fold away, which means they will CONSTANTLY find themselves getting in the way of the arms. Some clever posing can solve this problem, but they'll always sorta be there......
Still, by far and away this is the most enjoyable, nicely built, well conceived toy so far that I've come across in the Animated series (though that Ulta Magnus is looking keen......). Feel free to jump all over Blitzwing when you see him at a store. You won't be disappointed.

Blitzwing is the one of the coolest in the animated line! This one sweet triple changer while being one of the best quality transformers in the series.Blitzwing has three quick-switching faces that all have great detail as do the legs, arms, and body in robot mode. The other two modes are a tank mode&fighter jet mode. The tank mode has a rotating turret for a realistic effect with awesome articulation throughout. The fighter jet mode has a classic, sleek, and detailed look as well with a futuristic touch by having the tank treads on the bottom of the jet.Blitzwing has a weapon feature of two launching missiles that also act as flame decor coming out of the afterburners in fighter jet mode. The poseability is outstanding with awesome stability for creating battle poses or displaying where you please. The durability is excellent as well with secure joints and a solid build in either robot, tank,or fighter jet mode. The transformation level is advanced meaning if you have plenty of experience with transformers there is mid-level difficulty. If you are a parent buying for a child of 5-6 or younger you will have to assist some in the process.Blitzwing does have a very versatile transformation that can be learned easily with practice. If there is one animated transformer you get,Blitzwing is the best one to get for overall quality.Bottom line Blitzwing is a well-made,high quality,10 out of 10 transformer all fans will enjoy.I highly recommend Blitzwing to all transformer fans and collectors out there.Blitzwing Rocks and Transformers Rule!!!
Awesome, and great for kidsFeb 21, 2012
By 13wetz They don't make transformers like they used to! But, you can still find Blitzwing around, and he's a great catch. And, he's BIG. Even though he doesn't stay together when transformered as a plane too well, he's still fun, and as a tank, he's at his best. As a robot, you can change his faces to any of three, all silly-looking, and he's extremely fun to pose. Yes, he can stand sturdily on carpet! His arms and legs are attached with solid swivel joins, so they don't pop off like most of your transformers! And, if you ever get your hands on the Animated Season One DVD, he'll be your favorite character.
It's just o.k.Jan 02, 2012
By Anthony J. Fuller The toy is o.k. over all. Transforms into 3 modes, though none of the modes are really solid. The transformations into the jet and tank are loose. the robot mode is the best mode in my opinion though the hands are in a permanent karate chop position. After transforming a few times I am ready to sell it.
