Description:

Metroplex to be reissued! If you missed out on the first release of Metroplex, here is another chance - scheduled to arrive in April 2010.

Encore: #12 Metroplex features robot mode/attack mode, vehicle mode, and base mode. Metroplex is accompanied by robot units Scamper, Slammer, and Six-Gun, and an array of weaponry and accessories including Anti-Matter Projectors, Ion Pulse Rifles, twin guided missile launchers, particle beam pistol, acetylene pistol, maser cannon, mortar cannon, missiles, and fists. It is unknown whether the Encore: #12 Metroplex will feature plastic tires or rubber tires. Bulky and square-framed, Metroplex interacts well with smaller Autobots. Scamper transforms from a black six-wheeled car into a patrol robot. Slammer is derived from one of Metroplexâ?TMs towers and the mortar cannon. The aptly-named Six-Gun is derived from a portion of one of Metroplexâ?TMs towers, Metroplexâ?TMs anti-matter projectors, ion-pulse rifles, and twin guided missile launchers. Comprising at least a substantial portion of the vast Autobot City facility, Metroplex is generally considered to be the key adversary of the monstrous Decepticon Assault Base Trypticon, and will typically---provided that Metroplex is capable of Transforming into his robot mode at the opportune moment---overwhelm Trypticon in battle. Please Note: We've received numerous inquiries wondering about the authenticity of the Encore Metroplex. We 100% guarantee that this is authentic Takara product, our suppliers purchase directly from Takara do not deal in knockoff products. We were approached by the knockoff manufacturer, but declined to purchase any of their unlicensed products. Please rest assured that all our Metroplex inventory is 100% authentic. Thanks - Joel

4Christmas wishlist fulfilled (give or take 23 years)Apr 10, 2009

I expected this to be much bigger. I guess when your nine this thing is huge...not so much now.
Even so, the figure is pretty impressive once you finish applying the decals (I LOVE decals! [no, seriously]) with details like skyscrapers, a helipad and ramps. Three modes (city, mobile fortress and robot) give very distinct aspects of the character and new ways of posing/displaying it (I hadn't even known about the mobile fortress mode until I read about it in a book a few years ago).
It also comes with a transformable scout car, two missile firing cannons, two non-firing cannons, a tank, and the parts to form a conning tower for the helipad. The four cannons and conning tower also combine to make another robot. That's four figures (counting the tank) for the price of one! I really wish I had had this when I was a kid, even if would be nothing but spare parts now ( as many can attest).
This is definitely worth adding to a collection.

5Metroplex - safe haven for the AutobotsMar 04, 2009

Metroplex is a fun, complex toy that gives you a few options on how you can transform him- whether a peaceful or battle ready city or a battle platform- metroplex comes with a couple surprises for the Decepticons- hidden guns and missile launching compartments - not to mention an open hatch with a door to store an autobot mini car and a few other treats as well. There is really no way to incorrectly transform him because as i said he has options as to what form he takes- he is big and fun to transform and use.
He has big and small guns and even comes with a small autobot car- you can use part of the city tower and connect with a cannon and you have an instant tank. He has a helipad when in city mode that works well with "Blades" the protectobot helicopter-he lands there nicely. I would recommend this toy to any Transformer fan who doesn't have him yet.

This is a review response to YouTube user Peaugh's review of G1 Fortress Maximus. Peaugh this is for you. Basically this figure is exactly the same as G1 but newer and you don't have to worry about paying alot of money. He comes with everything, Scamper, Sixgun, his weapons, everything. Not much to say except that he is alot tiner than Fort Max but about scale with Scorponok and Omega Supreme. Like I said not much said. BTW for Peaugh, why do you have VeggieTales ringtones? It's from The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything movie. [...]
