By Ray T. WHY IS PRIME A FIRE TRUCK!!!???
OK, now that that's out of my system... I've never seen a single episode of R.I.D but as an Optimus collector I hesitantly added this one to my collection, and then only because I found him at a price I couldn't refuse. Prime as a red fire truck, with hardly a trace of blue to be found? With a voice chip commanding himself to "Maximize"?! What Bizarro World did this thing tumble out of, anyway?
But I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. The robots' smaller mode does bear a passing resemblance to the Optimus we all know and love, and the super mode, while resembling Primes' third cousin twice removed, is still impressive in it's own right. The fire truck mode, while odd for a Prime, holds together rather well and is one of the more realistic vehicle modes Optimus has taken on. I had to take away a star for the fact that his "trailor" portion doesn't transform so much as disasemble and snap on to the robot, as well as the previously stated fact that they made Prime a FIRE TRUCK! Otherwise, a better figure than I was expecting. "Autobots, maximi- ah, I mean transform and roll out!"
