4Soundwave MP3 playerMar 24, 2008
By A. Witter "Art12"
I haven't had any problems and have been at least moderately entertained by the Soundwave MP3 player. The only downside is its lack of features, no USB, and lack of rechargable battery/battery pack dampen its functionality somewhat but not terribly a USB card reader and card was more than an acceptable price and it will take the 2gb card with seemingly no problems. A LCD display would put it over the top. The sound is great, I was honestly suprised, and its joints 'pop off' before they break if a 8 y/o starts playing with it and pulls of a leg, and they pop right back on, plus it has a really high 'geek' factor. Glad I bought it, just wish it had a few more features, overall a pretty neat gizmo.

4Unique MP3 listening at its best!Apr 09, 2009
By Abaye Lbert
There are a few unique MP3 players that come along every once in a while & this is one of them. I have had people stop me & ask to see it.

It has a SD card slot in its chest for the music & a headphone jack where its shoulder mounted cannon goes. It gets power from one 'AAA' battery that goes in the back.

Pros-
Reasonbly priced, Simple to use, Unique

Cons-
cant withstand abuse

5Must have for fansJan 04, 2008

This thing is freaking AWSOME!!!!
By far the coolest mp3 ever create(if you're a transformers fan at least).
Soundwave is faithfully recreated with only slight alterations, namely in size and the fact that the guns do not fire missals. Other than that, and the fact that tapes do not go in his chest but a mini sd card does which is soooo cool and a nice concept for the new digital age, Soundwave is as awesome as he was when the toy was first created in the mid to late 80s.
Soundwave has around 20 or so points of articulation. Ten of these points are ball joints which allows you to pose sounwave the way you have always wished you could!!!!!
He also has interchangeable hands. Two fist type hands and four ,two right and two left, that have extended trigger fingers.(the extended hands do not interfere with Soundwave's transformation capabilities)
The only real downside to the player player part of the figure is the fact that it takes a triple A battery instead of having a built in rechargeable one. This is further complicated by the fact that the battery has to be installed by taking out a screw and removing a panel on Soundwaves back.
Also, there is no usb interface with which to put music on the mini sd card. You have to load it via a mini sd card reader/writer.
The price tag is a little more than I would like, but a small price for a true fan.
Other than this it's the coolest darn transformer ever. Simply because it's the first one that ever actually functions as toy and as what it is supposed to be.
If you are a die hard TF fan you have to purchase this figure!!!!!!

4Very nice.May 27, 2009

I was very happy with this toy. The SD card support is great. The fact that I used to have Soundwave when I was a kid just make this more awesome.

1Don't waste the moneyJun 29, 2011

I bought this for my husband for Father's Day..he's a huge Transformers fan. It arrived intact, it did indeed transform well. However, it only played for about 60 seconds before it quit working entirely. I was extremely disappointed at the quality of this item for the price. Want some advice? Get a Transformers toy, and get a separate mp3 player. (written by Brock's wife)
