"blood vamp"
Cyclonus is one of the best Universe Deluxe class transformers done! The detail on Cyclonus is amazing. You would think he jumped right out of the tv screen into your hand. There is super decor in robot or hypersonic starfighter mode with one of the best articulated head pieces around.Cyclonus was constructed from the cast-off chassis of deactivated decepticon warriors. He was programmed by Unicron to be loyal only to Galvatron.Powered by nuclear engines and a small fragment of his creator's supernatural power,Cyclonus wields enough might to steralize the surface of an inhabited world by himself.Cyclonus also comes with his trusted companion nightstick that transformes into a laser cannon. The poseability is outstanding with great stability for battle poses or to display this gem where you please. The durability is excellent as well with secure joints and a solid transformation to take on any situation.Cyclonus is a all around durable figure in either mode. The transformation level is advanced meaning if you have plenty of experience with transformers there is mid-level difficulty. If you are a parent buying for a child of 5-6 or younger you might have to help some in the process.Honestly Cyclonus is very versatile for all ages with a managable transformation.Cyclonus is a great transformer that was awesome in the 80's and is awesome again in this Universe version.Bottom line Cyclonus is a well-made,high quality,10 out of 10 transformer that all fans will love.I highly recommend Transformers Universe Cyclonus to all fans and collectors alike.Cyclonus Rocks and Transformers Rule!!!

Like a 1980's flashback!Jan 22, 2009

"I'm just this guy, you know?"
IN SHORT: Old Ttransformers fans and new will like this one!
Good ole Cyclonus. He first appeared in the (in)famous Transformers movie, having been turned from one of the old Decepitcons into Galvatron's new right-hand-bot. He had a cool look to him and was quite a cool customer!
Now comes a redo of the old toy and it's an improvement in every way! The vehicle mode is almost the same as the original, but robot mode is far better, being much more articulated and having a better overall look to it.
What's really neat is that this isn't just Cyclonus. No, no. It's (drumroll, please), Targetmaster Cyclonus! Yes, he comes with a small robot that turns into a gun for him to use. It was a gimick used towards the end of Gen 1. Can Headmasters be far behind?
This is a neat little flashback and nice toy to have! Recommended!

NOW I CAN BUY MY OWN TOYSApr 29, 2009
By Alexander Scott When I was a wee tot, I lived, breathed, and dreamed Transformers. The iconic battles of good and evil between giant robots... the animation and voice acting was really pretty good and mostly holds up even today. Of course, I had the toys, mostly, but never had any of the Decepticon planes. I don't remember having any of the Decepticons that came after the movie ("They killed Optimus Prime! You bast@#!s!")
Now I'm an adult, and I can buy my own toys.
Cyclonus is a futuristic spaceship, and it looks really neat. And, he has a little friend (Nightstick) who travels with him. Nightstick has poseable arms and legs in addition to a gigantic barrel that folds out of his back. I'm impressed that Nightstick actually looks silly attached to Cyclonus's spaceship form, because the ship looks so "realistic" that the out-of-scale gun ruins the illusion. So Nightstick stays at home, doing ... decepticon laundry, I guess, while Cyclonus cruises the galaxy. Poor Nightstick - at least he's poseable.
The transform to robot is somewhat challenging, as you have to figure out where to apply pressure and where the tabs are. I'm a little concerned that he won't be very "clicky" after many transforms, and I suspect he'll be more easily broken than the decepticon seekers. The legs do some funky folding, and they seemed misaligned ever since the first transform, so I do think better engineering was possible.
But man, what a robot. This Cyclonus can pose at the knees, hips, shoulders, elbows, and neck. His dramatic poses don't look awkward or goofy at all - I hear Dirty Harry every time I pose him with gun in hand, aiming in silhouette, while standing with one foot on a burned-out husk of an autobot. "You looking at me, punk?"
My opinion is that if you always wished to have the Decepticon planes, this toy will fulfill your 25 year long dream. I have fun playing with it with my son (although he can't transform it) and it is quite poseable on my display shelf. And it just looks cool.
So much cooler than the origional.Sep 06, 2011
By nynvolt I was disappointed when I found my favorite G1 transformer missing, Cyclonus! I have his arms and in one hand his gun gripped tightly as if he had been fighting to the end. I have no idea what happened to the rest of him. On a whim I thought I'd see if I could find one, he reminds me of my childhood which a good portion was devoted to Transformers. I found the universe deluxe edition. I'm not a fan of the insectoid, flimsy movie bots. I hate that the old guys look nothing like their original characters but this toy is different! He looks MORE like his original cartoon self! His ship mode is also very similar, the original toy was sleeker and also very close but neither are perfect representations of the cartoon. I can't get over how great his robot form is though. It's awesome. I started liking girls more than transformers by the time he got a weapon that transformed so the little side kick was all bonus for me, cool. Overall I am extremely pleased with universe deluxe Cyclonus. If you were a fan of G1 and thought Cyclonus was totally bitchen you will l. ove his latest figure. I also highly recommend getting his buddy Scourge! I dug him when I was a kid also but couldn't get over his goofy landspeeder looking vehicle mode. So never bought the G1 version. His updated deluxe figure is simply perfect. His face rocks with evil fu-man-chu greatness. And he looks like he could actually fly in his updated stealth bomber vehicle mode.
Over all Cyclonus Universe Deluxe figure gets two thumbs up for collectors or just old guys wanting something to remind them of their youth.
WonderfulSep 01, 2011
By Dave This is arguably the best deluxe class Transformers figure ever. For me the jet mode could be a little more solid, but the incredible robot mode makes up for it. He has some of the best light piping I've ever seen on any toy. His eyes glow with very little light. The target master is also a very nice touch.
While this version isn't available any more, you can still find Battle in Space two-pack, which has a slightly recolored version of this with a pretty nice Rodimus figure.
