4Great Value, and they work just fineFeb 12, 2009
By M. Thomas "docm75"
I bought these to complement the wii wheel that came with my son's Mario Kart so I could have my 33 year old ego shattered by losing races to my 7 year old.

They work just fine and all the sensitivity is in the wiimote so don't worry that they won't work.

The ONLY thing that I prefer about the official wii wheel is the position of the "B" button on the original. this unit only has a hole for the b button to protrude so if you've got small hands you might not reach the button as comfortably as the one on the wii wheel. My 7 year old's fingers are long enough though so this really isn't an issue.

5These wheels are fantasticJun 28, 2009

We have had a great time playing Mario Kart with these wheels and have had no problems with them after playing Mario kart almost daily for the last couple months. We bought these 2 wheels in addition to the official nintendo wheel at the same time. After hosting players of various ages (from 7 to 40), there is no clear preference for either wheel. However, the Turbo wheel has a bit larger diameter which gives it an edge over the nintendo wheel in my view.

5Great alternativeJun 23, 2009

This wheel is easier for my larger hands to grip than the Nintendo brand wheel. Of note, there is no B button on the wheel itself. Rather, you directly press the B button on the remote (there is a small cutout on the wheel where the B button is supposed to be). I prefer this because the Nintendo wheel sometimes failed to activate the B button when I pressed it. As for the design, I think the Nintendo wheel looks better. However, in my opinion, function beats form in this case. Finally, the two wheel pack has more bang for your buck than buying one wheel alone. I bought the blue and red pack featured here, and also bought the grey and orange wheels to complete the four color set.

1Weak infra-red pass throughMay 02, 2009

Bought these to supplement the wheel that came with Mario Kart.

I mounted the Wii-mote in the wheel and tried to play. You are supposed to able to point the left side of the wheel at the Wii remote sensor to make screen selections. However, the mounted Wii-mote looses contact with the sensor when only halfway up the screen. Apparently this wheel is limiting the signal coming from the Wii-mote.

By contrast the Nintendo wheel (which has a bigger opening to let the signal pass through) works just fine.

2These are not very good at all...Aug 21, 2009

I have to agree that these have a weak infrared pass through. Once the wiimotes are mounted I have a very hard time making menu selections. When playing Mario Kart using these you will often make a sudden and unexpected left turn and crash out, which is really anoying. Taking the wiimotes out of these wheels gives better performance. The wheel that came with Mario Kart works flawlessly, and so now my kids fight over who gets stuck with one of these.
Spend the extra $5 and get 2 official Wii Wheels...
