No doubt these guys are precious, even down to the packaging, but we found the shells only have a tiny piece of plastic holding them on. When it breaks (which it did in about 5 minutes of play) the toy's cuteness fades really quickly. I rarely write reviews, but I love toys and hate when flaws like this make my kids sad.

The Xia-Xia crab was purchased for my grand-daughter. It worked fine the first day and then the mechanism broke. This item is garbage. Do not waste your money! I purchased this because she asked Santa for this item.

My 5 1/2 year old daughter can't wait to take these back. They are small and the legs are a little flimsy. The legs do move when the crabs "walk" which is cute. Our problem was the little mechanical track that moves the crab is so small that it doesn't move well on the tile floor. It kept getting stuck in the cracks and stopping. I think if you had the playsets or a smooth surface it might work much better. It does bounce off of the walls when it hits them.
The little friend that hides in their shells is a small piece of molded plastic about 1/2 inch long. The crabs are about 3-4 inches long.
They only held her attention for 10 minutes and she was done with it. She was disappointed in the size. They are really cute to look at but with the very small plastic parts I do not see these holding up very long.

Very cute. My daughter treats it like a pet crab. The shells can be changed out for variety. Has on and off button!

My daughter seven year old worked to get this toy. We found it at toys r us. Before we reached the house the arm was broken. We went back that same day to exchange it. Later that night the arm was off again. This is a fun toy but not worth the money she paid. It's not very durable. I could have purchased 3 HEX BUGS.
